FAMILIES SHORT COURSE

CONNECTION. NURTURE. GROWTH.

“Families” is a twelve-hour course that focuses on family relationships and gives people strategies in parenting as well as skills to deal with conflict and build honest, supportive relationships with those close to them.

“Families” is run regularly from our community centres and in response to requests from other centres and institutions.

• Families for Rehab. The course is now a regular part of the program in local rehabilitation centres and equips parents, not only to communicate with their families while they are going through rehab, but to have goals to aspire to once they are with their families again.

• Families for Juvenile Justice. Young men in juvenile justice have completed a teens version of the Families Course. This was interactive and engaging and helped them to both reflect on their own experiences growing up and to think about the type of parent they want to be.

• Families Workshops in Workplaces: A two-hour workshop is available for personal development in the workplace. A “Masterclass in Parenting” this workshop not only gives people an opportunity to reflect and work on their own family life, it also helps to fund our work amongst disadvantaged families.

FAMILIES SEMINARS AND CONFERENCES

Fusion Western Sydney hosts regular talks and seminars to further inspire and equip families. Our goal is to bring experts in their field of family life to Western Sydney, and make these events affordable to our local parents and carers. We have covered such topics as “Mental Health and Young People”, “Teens, Sex and Technology” and “Raising Boys with Steve Biddulph”.
